Meanwhile, on a Street in Istanbul…

It’s a rainy and slightly chilly day in Istanbul. But this little family of stray cats has a dry, warm place to rest.

Local residents have turned a covered cat litter box into a makeshift shelter, complete with soft bedding inside and a bowl of dry food just outside the entrance. As you can see in the photos, the cats are curled up together, looking comfortable, relaxed, and healthy.

Scenes like this are quite common in Istanbul. Many residents regularly feed street cats and dogs, provide simple shelters, and look after the animals living in their neighborhoods.

Of course, life on the streets is not always easy for these animals. Food and shelter are important, but they also need veterinary care and protection from disease, traffic, and other dangers.

For now, though, this little cat family seems to be doing well. They’re warm, well-fed, and sheltered from the rain, thanks to a few thoughtful neighbors.

Just another ordinary day on a street in Istanbul.
