A Beautiful View of the Bosphorus from Havantepe Road

On June 26, 2024, I was cycling with my friend Matthias, and while climbing Havantepe (which can be translated as Mortar Hill), we stopped to take photos. Here’s a beautiful view of the Bosphorus from Havantepe Road.

Bosphorus, June 26, 2024. The weather was so clear, which is unusual for this time of the year. At this time of year, especially over the Bosphorus, there is a haze that limits visibility and blurs the view. So we were lucky. We can see the Grand Hotel Tarabya and the Maslak skyline in the middle of the photo. Don’t let the Grand Hotel Tarabya appearing as if it’s on the opposite shore deceive you; the spot where we took the photo is still on the European side. The Bosphorus forms a large bay at Çayırbaşı, which is why Tarabya looks like it’s on the opposite shore.
